Why Every Role on Our Job Board Is Less Than 7 Days Old

1 October 2026

Hirewick's weekly freshness rules for hand-checked remote jobs

It’s 11 p.m. You have 14 tabs open, a cold cup of tea, and a job listing that says “Remote.” You get excited. You scroll down. Line 9 says “must be able to attend the office as and when required.”

That’s not remote. That’s a commute with extra steps.

We built the Hirewick job board because we got tired of this too, and because we know how much energy it costs you. Searching for remote work is already hard. It shouldn’t also be a scavenger hunt through stale, vague and misleading listings.

What’s wrong with most remote job lists

  • - They’re old. A role can sit online for weeks after it has been filled or frozen.
  • - They’re vague. No location, no work setup, no clue who can actually apply.
  • - They send you in circles. Click, click, redirect, redirect, and you land on a page that doesn’t match what you clicked.

The rules we hold ourselves to

  • 1. Fully remote only. No hybrid in a remote costume.
  • 2. Posted in the last 7 days. Fresh roles only, refreshed every week.
  • 3. A stated location, or it doesn’t make the list. If a posting doesn’t say where the work can be done, we don’t assume “anywhere.” Unstated never counts as worldwide.
  • 4. Straight to the employer. We link to the company’s own application page, not a middleman.
  • 5. Direct contact where possible. We favour postings where you can reach the person who posted the role. A real person reading your message often beats an application sitting in a pile.
  • 6. Sources beyond LinkedIn. We pull from across the internet, our networks and word of mouth, and we check each role on the posting itself.

How the zones work

Every role is sorted by region zone: Africa, EMEA, Europe, MENA, APAC, LATAM, North America and Anywhere. The zone tells you where the employer allows the work to be done. It does not guarantee that you’re eligible, so always read the posting. Each role also shows the work setup, the salary when listed, and a short description so you can decide in 30 seconds whether it’s worth your time.

Why freshness matters

The remote market is tight. Different trackers measure different things: Robert Half’s data points to fully remote roles being only a small share of US postings in early 2026, while FlexJobs reported that remote postings in its own database grew 22% in Q2 2026. Either way, the roles that exist attract a crowd, and career sources regularly note that good listings can collect hundreds of applications within days. Being early helps.

How to use the board in 20 minutes a week

  • 1. Open the board on the day it refreshes.
  • 2. Filter to your zone and read only the top of each description.
  • 3. Pick three roles. Not thirty. Three.
  • 4. Tailor your application, and where a contact is listed, send a short, human message.
  • 5. Log it in a tracker so you know what you sent and when.

A promise we can keep

We can’t promise you a job. Nobody honest can. What we can promise is that the roles on our board are recent, remote, and clearly described. The rest is your story, your skills and a little bit of timing.
